31 91͵ Seniors Earn National Merit and College Board Recognition
This fall, officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of 17 91͵ seniors whose results on the 2019 PSAT/NMSQT have earned them recognition as Commended Scholars and eight who have earned the title of National Merit Semifinalist. In addition, the College Board announced the names of four 91͵ seniors who have earned distinction in the National African American Recognition Program and three who have earned recognition in the National Hispanic Recognition Program for their exceptional performance on the exam.
91͵ Schools Welcome New Campus Leadership
Three 91͵ schools will welcome new leadership in the coming days as Jennifer Harrison has been named principal of McClure Elementary, Holly Rogers will transition to the principal position at Scott Johnson Middle School and Mitch VandenBoom has been named principal of Faubion Middle School.
91͵ to Host Division II National Football Championship Through 2025
On Wednesday, October 14, the NCAA announced that it has extended 91͵ Stadium’s run as the host site for the Division II National Football Championship through 2025. The announcement is in line with the NCAA’s decision last March to keep the championship at 91͵ Stadium through 2021. Now, the NCAA has chosen the district’s beautiful, 12,000 seat venue to host the Division II title game an additional four years.

Both the McKinney Boyd Honors Consortium Orchestra and the McKinney High School Symphony Orchestra earned National Winner status in the String Orchestra and Full Orchestra categories, respectively, in the national 2020 Mark of Excellence competition.

91͵ students taking part in Advanced Placement (AP) exams in the spring of 2020 earned accolades from the College Board for their performance, with close to 900 students from McKinney Boyd High School, McKinney High School and McKinney North High School receiving recognition.
