McKinney, Texas — Due to the accelerated housing development within the current attendance zones for Frazier Elementary, Press Elementary, Scott Johnson Middle School and McKinney North High School, the 91͵ÅÄ Board of Trustees approved minor adjustments to the school boundaries that take effect immediately for newly attending students and for the 2024-2025 school year for current students. These adjustments aim to avoid the imminent overcrowding of these schools experiencing fast housing growth.

At the regular board meeting on Monday, March 25, 91͵ÅÄ Administration proposed adjustments to the school boundaries for Frazier Elementary, Press Elementary, Scott Johnson Middle School and McKinney North High School, which will primarily impact actively developing subdivisions north of US Highway 380. The board approved the changes.

Note, all new students starting school after March 26, 2024, will be required to enroll at the campus where their residence is now zoned. However, all 91͵ÅÄ students actively attending school as of March 26, 2024, that reside in a subdivision impacted by the boundary adjustments will be allowed to remain at their current school. For active 91͵ÅÄ students attending Frazier Elementary, Scott Johnson Middle School or McKinney North High School as of March 26, 2024, the following grandfather options will apply:

  • Students in Kindergarten – 4th grade currently enrolled at Frazier Elementary, students in 6th grade – 7th grade at Scott Johnson Middle School, and students in 9th grade – 11th grade at McKinney North High School who reside within the identified area will have a one-time grandfather option to remain at their current school or until a new rezoning is implemented or the family vacates the residence.
  • Current 5th grade and 8th grade students who reside within the identified area will have a one-time grandfather option to attend their currently zoned Middle School or High School respectively (or until a new rezoning is implemented or the family vacates the residence).
  • Any younger sibling(s) of a current Frazier Elementary, Scott Johnson Middle School, or McKinney North High School student can be grandfathered to the same school the older sibling is also attending through the remainder of their time in that school or until a new rezoning is implemented or the family vacates the residence.
  • Grandfathered students are approved transfers and are subject to 91͵ÅÄ’s transfer guidelines, including providing their own transportation.

Zone maps can be found on the 91͵ÅÄ Attendance Zones & Maps page on the 91͵ÅÄ website.

The full recommendation can be found in the Board Book on the 91͵ÅÄ website.
